thoughts
Huang Guoqiang
Professor, Arts faulty, Tsing Hua University
Mr. Yeh's works are fervent hymns to nature, society, and reality, yet they carry a strong critical spirit. They embody the painter's longing for ideals, contemplation of the multi-dimensional space of the ancient universe, and concerns about the fate of human life. The imagery is sometimes gloomy, sometimes desolate, sometimes nostalgic, and sometimes filled with ideals, revealing the painter's nostalgic feelings for their homeland. These intense emotions are tangled and intricate, hesitant to speak yet permeating through the lines and blocks of colour, making the works brim with poet-like rich imagination! They possess a simple, austere, solemn quality, infused with a strong religious undertone!"
