1974 South-East Asia Art Exhibition

22.11.1974 - 24.11.1974
Victoria Memorial Hall

"Three year ago, a Creative Art Competition for South East Asia Students was held ni Singapore, sponsored by the South East Asia Art Association. It was a great success. Mr. Yeh Chi Wei, the president of the Association was very excited and commented that Singapore has many good reasons can become "The Paris of South East Asia" I have written a short article for this topic, with the hope to encourage the Association to start a new step towards this goal.

Today, I am thrilled to see that the Association has organised the South East Asia Art Exhibition and have widely invited artists from Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore to participate in this exhibition. This has proven that Mr. Yeh had not forgotten his comment and the Association has really made progressive steps to reach this goal.

Comparing with other art societies, the name South East Asia Art Association may not be as well known to the public, However, in the past four years, ii had step by step, achieved a great deal of work, many of which can be highly praised."
