印尼记遊（廿五）

廿二日晨，往椰加达市区溜达。椰城气候炎热，平日气温约在华氏九十度左右，芝里翁河静静地贯流过市中心，四郊河渠亦与此河相连络。这里的市民，洗衣、洗菜、洗澡均在於斯，真是別有一番景致。在芝里翁河的上流是新区，街道寬阔，屋宇整⻬，举凡政府的行政机关，大旅馆，公园等公共建筑均设於此，这是一个完全现代化的建筑区。在芝里翁河的下流，是为旧区，这里街道较狭，商店密集，百分之八十以上是为华人所经营的，是椰加达商业的总枢纽。市区交通方便，尤以三轮⻋特別多，不论大街小巷，尽是三轮⻋的天下，拥挤不堪。我最讨厌这种市声喧嚣的环境，而且那繁闹嚣杂的都市⻛光，与新加坡並无二致，实引不起我们特殊的兴味。最后，大家选购了一些当地之特产，就回返寓所摒挡行箧。晚上由蒋君招待晚餐，餐后向有关的部⻔道別。

翌日清晨，又將行李集中在李曼峰先生的府上，这一次的游程已超出了三星期。计划想去的地方还有很多，因假期已满。游情虽未减，亦不得不离开，心中免不了有一种倥忽与不满的感觉。下午四时，我们乘搭的 Garuda ⻜机起⻜了。於「再 会」声中离开了椰城，五时五十分抵达新加坡，結束了印尼之游程！（完）

On the morning of the 22nd, we strolled around the city of Jakarta. The climate in Jakarta is hot, with temperatures usually around 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The Ciliwung River flows peacefully through the city center, connecting with various canals in the suburbs. The citizens here do their laundry, wash vegetables, and bathe in the river, creating a unique scene. In the upper reaches of the Ciliwung River is the new district, with wide streets, well-aligned buildings, and government administrative offices, large hotels, and public parks. It's a completely modernized area. In the lower reaches of the Ciliwung River is the old district, where streets are narrower, and shops are densely packed. More than 80 percent of these businesses are operated by Chinese Indonesians, making it the central hub of Jakarta's commerce.

The city has convenient transportation, especially with a large number of three-wheeled vehicles known as "becak" crowding the streets. They dominate the city, making it feel crowded. I personally dislike the noisy urban environment, and the hustle and bustle of the city scenery, which is no different from Singapore, doesn't particularly pique our interest. Finally, we purchased some local specialties and returned to our accommodation. In the evening, we were treated to dinner by Mr. Jiang (蒋君), and after dinner, we bid farewell to the relevant departments.

On the following morning, we gathered our luggage at Mr. Lee's residence. This time our journey had exceeded three weeks. There were still many places we wanted to visit, but our holiday was over. Though our desire to travel had not diminished, we had to leave, and there was a sense of haste and dissatisfaction in our hearts. At 4:00 PM, we boarded a Garuda flight. With a "goodbye," we left Jakarta and arrived in Singapore at 5:50 PM, bringing our journey in Indonesia to a close!
